This page follows the light novel; the manga has its own volume numbers.

During a duel, I became so captivated by my opponent's magic that I lost my life—or so I thought. Somehow, I had been reincarnated as Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Kingdom of Saloum. Far down the line of succession and encouraged to live as he pleases, Lloyd decides to devote himself to researching the magic he loves while keeping up with the swordsmanship training given by his attendant maid, Sylpha. Blessed with knowledge and talent, Lloyd's magic improves at an astonishing pace, and those around him come to regard him more and more highly. Lloyd himself, however, spends his days on research and experiments, following wherever his interests lead. Then one day, he hears that the castle's underground chambers contain dangerous grimoires and forbidden books, including some with terrifying demons sealed inside. Without telling anyone, Lloyd heads for the underground library. What he encounters there is just as terrifying as the rumors said—!?
