Chidori, a bottom-tier boys' school where fools gather, is hated by Kikyo Girls' Academy, a prestigious school for proper young ladies. The curtains are always closed, and the classrooms in the neighboring school buildings have never once been seen. Rintaro Tsumugi, who attends Chidori, is always judged to be a scary person based on his appearance and avoided, so he gradually began keeping his distance from others. One day, while helping out at his family's cake shop, he meets Kaoruko, who has come in as a customer. “I never once thought you were scary, Rintaro.” Although Rintaro is bewildered, he gradually begins to find the time he spends with Kaoruko, who treats him without prejudice, comforting. But she is a student at Kikyo... A school story filled with vivid youth, woven by two people who are “close yet distant.”
